Dracula
Dracula

Adapted by Peggy Taphorn

Lucy has come down with a mysterious illness with horrific, yet baffling symptoms – sudden loss of blood, sleepwalking in the cemetery, and strange puncture wounds on the neck. When Lucy’s friend, Mina, begins to display the same symptoms, Professor Van Helsing must uncover the cause of her illness, and save her before it’s too late. Meanwhile, Count Dracula, a strange man from Transylvania, has taken up residence nearby, and at Seward Sanatarium, Renfield is becoming more wild and unruly by the day – almost as if he were possessed. And who can account for the howls coming from up the hill?

Ira David Wood IV leads a star-studded cast as Dracula. Mark Filiaci (Van Helsing), Robyne Parrish (Mina), Victor Rivera (Renfield), and Mark Alan Woodard (Jonathan Harker) represent some of the very best talent to be found in North Carolina.

Directing the show is Corey Brunish. He has appeared at the Temple before (Chicago, Guys & Dolls, and Sweet Charity), and this will be the second time he has directed a show. Originally from Los Angeles, Brunish has produced 10 Broadway shows, garnering 62 nominations and winning a total of 21 awards, the biggest of which was the 2012 Tony Award for Best Musical Revival (Porgy and Bess) and a 2013 Tony for the revival of Pippin.

The Temple’s rendition of this classic thriller definitely has bite!
