LADY DAY AT EMERSON’S BAR AND GRILL
by Laine Robertson
It is 1959 and legendary jazz singer, Billie Holiday is about to take the stage at Emerson’s Bar & Grill for one of her final performances. Through songs and stories, Lady Day reveals her loneliness, inner fire, and a spirit that refuses to break. Interwoven with more than a dozen musical numbers including “When a Woman Loves a Man,” “God Bless the Child,” “Strange Fruit,” and “Crazy He Calls Me”, Billie’s song will linger long after the curtain comes down.
