Jason Petty's Every Song Tells a Story
Jason Petty's
Every Song Tells a Story

This musical tribute showcases Petty’s talents in several musical genres: country, pop, and folk. Jason and his four-piece band musically celebrate the songs that generations have come to love, the story songs.

Jason and band recreate the music perfectly while giving insight into how these amazing story songs came about. You’ll get the backstory to Gordon Lightfoot’s classic “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.” You’ll hear how the Charlie Daniels classic, “The Devil Went Down to Georgia,” almost didn’t make the album and was only put in at the last moment as a filler song, and how George Jones didn’t even want to record his classic, “He Stopped Loving Her Today.”

Other legendary artists’ compositions will make the audience want to sing along, like Jim Croce’s two classics “Bad Bad Leroy Brown” and “You Don’t Mess Around with Jim.” Country storytellers are also included with Roger Miller’s “Dang Me” and Tom T. Hall’s “Old Dogs and Children and Watermelon Wine.” Other artists include Dan Fogelberg, Johnny Cash, Don McLean, Randy Travis, and Dan Seals.

Jason has always said that he treats the stage like his front porch, so let’s all gather around, sing some songs, and tell some stories. Of course, he will perform a couple of Hank Williams classics as well: “Kawliga” and “Lost Highway.” Jason’s tradition of paying homage to the role that brought him fame carries on in this all-new show. Williams is country’s most celebrated songwriter and one of the greatest storytellers ever recorded.

Every Song Tells a Story combines Jason’s musical and storytelling abilities, hailed as “in the style of the great Will Rogers,” with humor and heart.
