SUMMER CONSERVATORIES
Due to popular demand, Temple Theatre offers two productions starring children ages 8-18. In each three week session led by professional staff, participants take acting, dancing and vocal lessons, audition for parts, rehearse, and perform four shows on the main stage.
WINTER CONSERVATORY
A Shakespearean or classic theatre piece is the study for middle and high school students participating in this conservatory. Diction, acting, movement, stage craft and more are taught by a professional staff.
SPECIALIZED CLASSES
During the year Temple Theatre offers opportunities for young people to take specialized classes in a variety of theatrical areas. Last year we offered a 12 week “intro to musical theatre” which covered vocal coaching/singing, dancing, acting and stage craft. These classes are ideal for home school students who are looking for elective credit or for anyone interested in learning more about the arts.
TEMPLE TEENS
Temple Teens is a group of young people selected from audition. The Temple Teens are Temple Theatre ambassadors performing a high energy 30 minute show featuring songs from our upcoming season. There is no cost to have the Teens perform, but donations are kindly accepted and fully tax deductible. The Teens perform at various venues on a request basis: civic organizations, hospitals, retirement communities, regional fairs, church groups and various non-profit organizations in Central Carolina.
STUDENT MATINEES
Matinee programs are offered at 50% off the normal student rate and include teacher’s guides and post-show discussions.
YOUTH SCHOLARSHIPS
While our tuition prices are among some of the lowest in the country, there still are many who cannot afford to participate. As in years past, we will continue to provide as many scholarships as possible for children needing financial aid.
